2024 Utah Skatepark Survey
The 2024 Utah Skatepark Survey aimed to understand the needs and expectations of riders concerning skateparks in Utah. Conducted from March 4, 2024, to March 11, 2024, the 57 question survey attracted 1,000 respondents through a state-wide effort.
About the Survey
Distributed via Google Forms, the survey reached participants through social media channels such as Instagram (@goskateutah), Facebook (Utah Skatepark Advocacy Group), and the r/Utah Reddit channel, as well as through printed QR codes available at various skate shops and skateparks, all promoted by local the riding community leaders, skatepark riders and advocates.
Participants were encouraged to complete the survey, which took 10 to 15 minutes, and to share it with other riders to gather as much feedback as possible to support the expansion of quality and safe skateparks in Utah communities.
The findings from this survey are intended to be used as a resource by local skatepark advocates to help inform their local city, county and state leaders about their varying needs for their skateparks.

The completion rate of the surveys was high at 89.57%. Partially completed survey responses were included in the analysis as some of the questions were not required to answer and were marked as optional.

Demographics
The primary demographics captured in the survey were age and geographic location.
Other demographics such as, gender, level of education, income and religious affiliation were not taken into account in this survey.
The predominant age group among respondents was 18 to 24 years old, accounting for 26.7% of the total. The least represented were those aged 12 and under (2.1%) and those 55 and older (0.4%), likely due to limited access to phones or the internet for the younger group and lower social media usage or decreased interest in riding among the older group. The survey's reach was primarily through social media, which may have influenced these demographics.
This next chart shows the number of survey respondents from each city in Utah. A city is only included if it had at least one respondent. If a city is missing from the chart, it does not imply a lack of riders or the absence of a need for a skatepark, but rather that no one from that city responded to the survey.
